Dropbox and mozy
One big problem is the location s of what they upload. Sync services require you to put all of the files you want to sync into a single folder set up for that purpose.
You can put subfolders inside it, of course. The same goes for Google Drive and other such services. But backup services allow you to back up selected folders from all over your drive—or multiple drives. By default, they back up all of the library folders, the desktop, and whatever else they think needs protection.

You can install the little app, or log in to the website to access it if you don't want the app. I was reluctant at first, but it is really really easy to use, literally drag and drop. The only caveat is having multiple people working on one file at the same time, each will be saving a different version which may overwrite whomever saves first's work.

Joined Jul 17, Messages If you're on Windows the new Live Mesh is pretty good with 5gb free cloud space. I use a combination of Live Mesh and Dropbox now. Live Mesh has a better folder management, but drop box is dead simple and it works well.
