As I just picked up a used copy from a garage sale today, for 5 bucks, and haven't been able to mess with it since my old copy had a damaged disk. And I've been wanting to play the game badly for quite some time now.

A guide to getting X-Wing Alliance working on the newer machines then X-wing Alliance doesn't recognize modern systems - again, you need an installer tool - get it here.

Now - use your installation tool you downloaded and select the folder you put on your hard drive. If you don't get a message about overwriting files, you're doing it wrong you should say yes to overwriting in this case. OK - now you have a copy of the game with a new installer - this needs burning and mounting. Once this image is mounted , navigate to the setup. Et Voila - XWing Alliance on your latest machines. EXE - that one wont work!!

If you want to enjoy your Souped up game of XWing Alliance, stop here. Also you might need the 64 Bit patches. You probably don't even need the ISO. Just extract it to a folder. I just installed it recently but I used the Steam one and not my old CD copies. Italian version. Where I can find this 64 bit patch? What is the Steam CD? Thank you for fast reply. After installation and application of the patch, I try to run alliance from the original CD, but tha game does not start. No error messages are generated.
